So everyone is all about their main characters, huh?  All I see in the forum, obsession with the main characters.  What they look like is more important than who they are and what they're doing.  Alright.  It is what it is.  You all won't change overnight and I accept that because it's all I can do.

Bless your hearts and hold on to your butts.  Use both hands.

You are going to write a story ABOUT the main characters.  But the main characters... are NOT in the story.

:zombie:

lolwut

:ambulance:

Stay with me, folks.  Remember where you are.  This is not supposed to be easy.  It's why you're here, right?

So what do I mean by this?

June in the US is traditionally a time for people to get married.  My parents' anniversary is June 7th.  So the whole story will be revolving around a wedding.

HOWEVER

The bride and groom (or bride/bride or groom/groom, for universal human fairness) ARE NOT TO BE IN THE STORY.

wutlol

The main character/characters have to be anyone else other than the two individuals getting married.  They can be bridesmaids or groomsmen, parents or any other family members related to the individuals getting married.  They can be friends of the bride/groom/brides/grooms.  They can be enemies/haters of the bride/groom/brides/grooms.  Yes.  The individuals getting married are not to be characters in the story.  Think about the characters in the story and how they relate to each other (not meaning they HAVE TO BE related).  That will determine the rest.

THE REST?!

:icondoublefacepalmplz:

You all ready to smash me yet?  Hang on a sec.

I want the underlying theme here to be gossip.  However you view gossip, it must be an element to the story.  I'm not gonna lead you in one way or another.  You know how to think, you know what you feel about gossip.  Go with your instincts.

So put these elements together and come up with something stunning.

I know there's a lot going on.  You can do it.  I'll help you through it if you need me.  Think about what you're doing before you dive head-first into it.  Take some time.  It's not a cure for cancer, it's just a story.

Minimum word count is 2500.
Maximum word count is 4000.
Due June 30, 2013.

Wait. I can't tell if the wedding thing is an example you used to elaborate what you meant, or if the prompt has to be about a wedding.
